Ace! Just got ordered myself a iPAQ rx3715 Pocket PC.
It should be here in a few days but then again it is being imported from the US. It seems to be feature packed but the most important features for me are that it’s fast and has wifi! I chose this after much deliberation between various PDA devices including Palm and Pocket PC types. I know that Pocket PC devices need to be bigger & faster just to compete with a smaller Palm simply because of the ‘weight’ of running Windows Mobile edition. I was initially interested in the Sony UX50 but it’s a bit old now and difficult to get hold of so I moved my Palm choice on to the Palm Tungsten T3 as PC World were selling them really cheap at £170. PC World were sold out all over the place so I plumped for the rx3715 as I got a great deal that made it cheaper than the T3!
Well, after quite a bit of faffing about (mostly caused by the fact the project was broke) I managed to get a Continuous Integrationserver running using CruisControl.NET.
At first glance it all seems to be working at a basic level so the next step is enhancing this to produce better reporting etc.
It’s increasingly impossible to get into/out of a public building these days with out having to run the ‘gauntlet of death’ caused by the people smoking just outside the doors. Ban it!
Agile development is currently sparking my interests at work, in particular Scrum methods.
They would seem to answer all our prayers as game developers!
This is costing me lots of money on Amazon as I try an acquire as much knowledge as possible.
It’s also causing me to revisit eXtreme Programming (XP) as this is also at the heart of agile development.
I’ve owned an Orange SPV E200 Smartphone for getting on for a year now and I’m starting to itch about changing it over for something else. I’m sorely tempted by the new M2000 allbeit a bit of a monster in terms of size & weight *but* it does combine a Phone and PDA (with Wi-Fi!).
Today I spotted an announcement that the HTC Magician was to be made available sometime in the near future. It’s nice and small but doesn’t have wi-fi.
Well, an attempt to start posting reasonably regularly with various tidbits of information, mainly to jog my mind.
Highlights from recent days:
* Discovered de.licio.us. This is rapidly proving to be a fantastic thing!
* Now using bloglines.com to collate all my feeds.
Both of the above now mean I can use any computer anywhere to read & archive the ‘net! Ace!
