| LGEC has experience of working with disaffected youth in a number of schools across Lancashire, as well as in the use of P4C in the delivery of Global Citizenship activities. LGEC has found P4C to be so effective that they now have 6 staff members trained to Level 1 and have supported CDEC in the delivery of P4C training to teachers in the North West. | ![]() |
Brookside Short Stay School consists of a prefab building in a residential area in Lancaster. LGEC worked with students from two KS3 classes (one from year 7/8 and one from year 9). Although there is a park next to the centre, it doesn't have any green space itself and the building is anything but attractive. It does however, have a very positive atmosphere amongst the staff that work there. |
| CDEC has been using P4C for several years as a methodology to introduce pupils, teachers and the community to Global Citizenship. CDEC have also carried out an action research project to evaluate the effectiveness of the P4C methodology to deliver the Global Citizenship curriculum and develop SAPERE accredited P4C Level 1 courses. | ![]() |
Newbridge House consists of a prefab building in a residential area in Barrow in Furness. The project included Key Stage 2 pupils, ranging greatly in ability and difficulties faced by the children. The area surrounding the building is uncared for, though there is a pleasant tarmaced play area & separate green area with play equipment, garden area & greenhouse. The unit has a positive & supportive atmosphere amongst the staff that work there. |
