CARAVAN STRIP OUT PICTURES - Click on thumbnail to see larger versions
View to rear of caravan, which is now taking the form of a bonfire, i really do hope i can remember which panel fits where.
This is the view towards the front of the caravan, with all the electric cables hanging from the ceiling, where the zig control panel was located in the upper cupbard (there must be miles of cabling behind the wall/ceiling panels) - from this pic you can just make out a tear in the junction of the ceiling and wall, and to the lower right hand corner of the window, this is the side that hit the road when the caravan "fell-over".
Gas locker, as seen from the inside, with no visible methods of fixing! The locker is a fibre glass box, which has been sikaflex fixed from outside, and i'm having real problems trying to cut away the sikaflex. Even the dog was drafted in to figure out a way of getting the cabinet to come apart........Luckily the accident had broken several screws, and with a little assitance (in the form of a Yorkshire Ham-Fisted bloke) the cabinet gave-up and was removed.
a pic of the kitchen unit, where the cooker once sat - here you can see some damage to the worktop, which will hopefully glue back together, and with a new laminate top applied it should be as good an new. The other issue i have with the worktop is the recessed sink and cover, which will be very handy as additional workspace, however the cut out exposes the "end-grain" of the worktop to the water from the sink, and as such the worktop is swollen slightly around the sink - i think i'll re-make the whole top with marine ply, and apply lots of sealant to any exposed end-grain.
view of the plumbing and electrical install
another pic of the electrics - showing the back of the battery box (another element which has been sikaflexed to the chassis)!
view towards the back of the van, showing some removed cabinets, and also the damaged back panel.
