Club Rules and Code of Conduct

  • 1. Kickboxing is a highly effective and practical method of self defence and must only be used when absolutely necessary and then only with the minimum force sufficient to subdue an attacker or stop him or them. You must not attack first unless your life is in danger and there is no other action open to you.
  • 2. Students will be expected to bow when entering and leaving the training area. Students must obtain the instructor's permission to leave the training area during a lesson.
  • 3. Respect must be shown at all times to instructors. Students must address instructors in a respectful manner and never speak whilst the instructor is speaking during a lesson.

  • 4. When training care must always be taken at all times to avoid accidents and you must respect your training partner. Accident or injury must be the responsibility of the individual and not the club.

  • 5. In the training area you must never engage in idle chatter, fool about, smoke, drink, chew gum or sweets. Never enter the training area after having consumed alcohol. Always wear the correct club uniform. Ensure that your uniform and particularly feet are clean and nails clipped short. Jewellery must not be worn whilst training.
  • 6. When attending gradings students must have with them a current AMA Members Licence. Gradings will not be ratified or certificates issued to students who do not have an up-to-date licence at the time of grading.
  • 7. Gradings will take place when the instructors think an individual is ready. Time trained, effort and ability will be taken into consideration. It is important to remember we all progress at different speeds.
  • 8. All students must conduct themselves in a sportsman-like manner. Bullying either physically or verbally will not be tolerated. Derogatory remarks must not be spoken against any other martial art and the proper respect should be given to them at all times.
  • 9. Any prior injuries should be reported to the instructors prior to the commencement of training. No training will take place in the absence of the instructors.
  • 10. Our aim through training is to give the student a realistic approach to self defence.
