well since nobody else put a match report in here goes The scene was set as I walked into the changing room there they were waiting with there eyes on the watches your fined I heard them cry "not as much as I did when I had to hand over the money"Well Kemnay fielded first and did a really good job bowling them out for 92 with Martin Ward getting 4 wickets jammy sod mind you 2 of them were youngsters and he should have got done for abuse. Anyway Aussie Joe had a good day with his decent bowling and taking a brilliant catch at Tommo's spot gully. All the fielding was of a high standard even with Eric blowing his own trumpet.Kemnay went into bat with Steve and Dod going strong Steve hitting some good shots. When Dod went it brought about the postie to the crease a nice steady bat holding down the one end while Steve carried on hitting big eventually pulling a ball and getting caught near the boundary. The excalibar of Tim came in and played a few defensive shots waited for the bad ball and wham away it went for 4, next ball tried to do the same hit it well straight to a fielder postie very keen to show he could run went like a bat out of hell (a slow one at that) But Tim being the gentleman that he is did run but as he dove for the crease he couldn't ground his bat and was run out another fine for the postie. This unfortunate episode brought Mick in and he only lasted a couple of balls and was given out lbw. Joe came in and helped the postie finish off the game with the postie hitting a 2 then a decent shot for 4 to win the game. Well done to Kemnay and thanks to Crathie for a nice tea especially the pies Let's see what we can do in the friendly on Sat. _________________ postie |
